The Brownie Awards recognize builders, innovators and visionaries dedicated to the rehabilitation of brownfield sites in municipalities across Canada. Through six categories of recognition —reprogram, remediate, reinvest, rebuild, renew and reach out— the Brownie Awards recognize the innovative efforts to turn once contaminated, under-utilized and undeveloped sites into productive residential and commercial projects that contribute to the growth of healthy communities across Canada. The Brownfielder of the Year is a special award that recognizes an outstanding individual in the industry.
